Wellness Tips

As a lot of you know, I'm a fan of the healthy lifestyle. I get asked several times how I manage to stick with my healthy habits, so I decided to share a few tips because it really is so simple! Remember it takes time adjusting and as long as you are committed, you will be fine.
(My lunch from today) Consisted of spinach topped with veggies, couscous and a sweet potato wedge.
1. Pay attention to what you put into your body. Nutrition does not have to be over complicated. I don't consider my eating habits as a "diet," but more of a lifestyle. Try eating in controlled portions, avoid processed foods and aim for cleaner, fresher foods. I know you guys have heard the phrase, "abs are made in the kitchen" and it is 100% percent true. You cannot out-exercise a bad diet.
2. Eat your veggies. I cannot stress this one enough! One of the main health benefits of vegetables is that they are rich in nutrients. Veggies are loaded with vitamins and minerals that contribute to good health and good skin.

3. More water, avoid the soda. I stopped drinking soda when I was a sophomore in high school because that is when I became more aware of my health. Soda is full of sugar, artificial sweeteners, caffeine and high fructose syrup. (Everything you want to avoid!!) Water will keep you hydrated, boost your immune system, increase your energy and improve your skin complexion - along with the veggies :)

4. Do not make excuses when it comes to exercise. Whether it's 10 minutes, or an hour - get it in! I know you may think it's only 10 minutes, but it does make a difference. Don't contemplate it. My mindset is "I'm going to workout today," because if I ask myself if I should, or shouldn't, I will definetly decide to stay home! Just go out and DO IT. (Nike sponsored??) I wish haha.
-- I would also recommend laying out your workout clothes the day before, for mental preperation and building routine.

* I am not an expert, I'm just sharing what I know and works for me :)
